The Paychex Office Renovation included the phased renovation of approximately 28,000 square feet of occupied office space. Whittier Field Locker Rooms, Bowdoin College – Brunswick, ME

The LEED Certified Whittier Locker Room project had a fixed completion date to be ready for the Lacrosse team to occupy for the Spring semester of 2019. JFSCC provided extensive preconstruction services to aid in material selection and constructability review to maximize efficiency in order to shorten construction duration. State and local permitting caused a 10 week delay to the building start. This was a fast track construction project, but the team pulled together and project was finished on time and under budget.

New Student Housing, Husson College – Bangor, ME

JF Scott Construction Company provided preconstruction and construction management services on this project, with preconstruction starting in the summer and construction starting in October 2016.  Throughout preconstruction, JF Scott Construction evaluated and advised on several potential designs, with the goal of meeting the University’s cost-per-bed goals.  Design and construction kept the future phases in consideration in order to eliminate duplicated work in those phases. This project was started on November 14, 2016 and completed on July 31, 2017.

Expansion of the Unity College Campus – Unity, ME

JF Scott Construction was contracted last fall as construction manager on a new 70 Bed residence hall at Unity College.  Preconstruction services were provided throughout the concept, schematic, and design development stages of the project.  The project, which was originally scheduled to have an 8 month duration, broke ground in mid-February, but the completion date remained August 20 to be ready for the fall semester.  The shortened duration required a very closely coordinated schedule.  The 17,800 square foot building was divided into 5 distinct areas allowing an overlap of subcontractors making the shortened duration achievable.  The construction took place on an active college campus requiring site logistics to minimize impact to the student body.

Lafayette Family Cancer Institute – Brewer, ME

This project included an addition and renovation to provide the LaFayette Cancer Institute a new USP 800 pharmacy. Work in the existing facility required close attention to infection control and interim life safety as the many patients of this facility are immunocompromised. The JF Scott Construction Team worked closely with the facilities, medical, ILSM, and infection control personnel to maintain proper barriers and pressures at the interface of construction. A temporary ambulance entrance had to be constructed and site logistics were critical on this busy operational campus.

New Inpatient Rehab Unit, Alfond Center for Health – Augusta, ME

This $2M occupied, three phased renovation involved turning an underutilized office, gym, and other spaces into six additional patient rooms in the rehab unit. The work took place within and beneath occupied units, which was already operating at critically high census levels that necessitated the additional rooms. Despite the need for complex phasing and the logistics associated with healthcare construction during the height of Covid-19, the project was completed in just 35 weeks – on schedule and under budget.
