Projects

The Lithgow Library Expansion project involved additions and renovations to an 1880’s Andrew Carnegie funded library in Augusta, Maine. The project demolished an outdated 1970’s wing and expanded onto an adjacent lot with a new wing that more than double the size of the existing Library. Renovations of the original historic stone building included restoration of the original wood and complete reconstruction of the stain glass windows.

Selected in 2021 by Northern light to provide construction management services on the Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, the JF Scott Construction team worked closely with the owner and designer to budget and plan this 21,400 sf facility.  The overall project included an additional 29,000 sf of renovations to an on-site medical office building and Maine Coast Memorial Hospital located 20 minutes to the North.  Close coordination and a high level of communication was required to complete the work on an active hospital campus.

The Schiller Coastal Studies involved development of a 7 acre campus for Bowdoin College. The six buildings totaling nearly 20,000 sf of new construction included a new dry lab, a collaboration building with commercial kitchen, and 4 residential buildings to house students and professors all designed to meet passive house standards. The 13 month project was completed in the summer of 2020 ahead of schedule while navigating the impacts of the COVID shutdowns.

The Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts project consists of demolition of an existing 40’x200’ seasonal ceramics studio and construction of a 7300 sf  state-of-the-art year-round facility in its place. The new studio is a combination of wood and steel framing with a focus on use of low maintenance materials.

The Paychex Office Renovation included the phased renovation of approximately 28,000 square feet of occupied office space. The project was logistically challenging as we needed to accommodate one hundred employees working in the facility during the project. Work was performed in 3 phases, 8-10 weeks each, with employee relocation in between.
